Making a Difference with WeTHRIVE!:
Cyndi is a member of the WeTHRIVE! Leadership Team for Woodlawn, Lockland and Lincoln Heights. She has been with this project from the beginning and has always taken a genuine, up-close and personal approach to help achieve the following:
- A shared-use agreement that offers residents of Lockland and Lincoln Heights discounted membership to the Woodlawn Community Center and its programs. Those communities do not have such a facility.
- Woodlawn’s first community garden, kicked off in May 2010. Eight families had plots last year and they were able to donate produce to a local church that feeds families in need.
- Enhanced bike trail by adding fitness equipment, bike racks, benches and picnic tables.
- Educating residents and motivating them to get involved.
In Her Own Words:
"My driving force is helping people…if I can make a difference in just one person’s life, that is my motivation."
"WeTHRIVE! is a collaboration of families, neighbors and stakeholders in my community working toward a better place to live. It’s about all of us striving to make Woodlawn and surrounding communities a healthier place."
