Saturday, November 19 was an eventful day for WeTHRIVE! and the Center for Closing the Health Gap. In the morning, 200 people gathered at the Cintas Center for the Do Right! Healthy Cooking Workshop. Jenny Evans from OSU Extension and Master Nutrition Volunteers put on a fun interactive session about healthy eating, meal planning and MyPlate. Participants took home a free turkey to get them started on their own Thanksgiving dinner.

You may know that WeTHRIVE! works with communities, businesses, schools and faith-based groups to make Hamilton County a healthier place to live. Now we are working with those who care for the youngest of our children—child care centers.

Child care providers have a unique opportunity to shape the lives of the children and families they serve. Think about it--healthy eating and physical activity habits started in early childhood can last a lifetime!
